Future Livestock Consulting Internship

The Future Livestock Consulting Internship program is aimed at young graduates wanting to develop a career as a livestock consultant.

Working with producer clients can be challenging, yet also exceptionally rewarding. This program is designed to equip new livestock consultants with the skills, experience and knowledge required to be able to give producers the best advice and to become the best possible livestock consultants they can be.

The internship is a two year program, involving placements with established and reputable consulting businesses across Australia. You will be involved in normal consulting activities within the business, as well as undertaking studies and participating in various activities.

You must complete the Graduate Certificate in Agricultural Consulting at University of New England (via correspondence). You must also participate in five retreats, where you will build strong relationships with the other program interns and network with red meat industry professionals. By undertaking industry research or extension projects, you will gain an excellent introduction to the red meat industry’s expectations and the implementation of RD&E for the future development of the sector.

The program is proudly supported and funded via partnership with MLA Donor Company (MDC). MDC is a fully-owned subsidiary of Meat & Livestock Australia. It accelerates innovation across the value chain so the Australian red meat and livestock industry can remain competitive on the world stage. or for further
